The hackathon is part virtual and part physical. It starts on June 3rd with a virtual kick-off, this is ten days before the physical HHAI 2022 conference. During this kickoff, participants will receive more information, get access to the codebase and relevant datasets. They will meet their fellow participants as well as their coach and the domain experts who will help kickstart their ideas and answer any questions to help each team to get started. In the following days, each team is free to ideate and work on their ideas as much as each team wants. A few checkpoint meetings with their coaches will be provided to keep up the momentum.

On June 13th, the first day of the HHAI conference, a full day at the conference venue is organized for each team to finalize their ideas and proof of concept. During this day each team will work closely and intensely with their coach and domain experts to ensure that their idea and proof of concept is top notch.

On June 14th an event will be held where each team can pitch their idea and show their proof of concept. The jury will rate each team’s pitch on its creativity, impact and feasibility. During a networking event, the winning team will be announced.

Registration

Participants can register as a team of two to five people, or as individuals. When registering as an individual, you will be assigned to a team who could benefit from your unique expertise. We require each registration to be accompanied by a brief motivation why you want to participate. We offer room to a maximum of 60 participants only, and this motivation will be used to select teams or individuals who stand out in case we have too many registrations.

The entry fee of the hackathon is 100,- euro. A limited number of scholarships are available for master students who will fund their entry. Those who registered for the HHAI 2022 Conference and/or its workshops have free access to the hackathon, though we do require you to register here separately. The deadline for registration is May 8th and we notify each team May 13th the latest if they are accepted to the event.
